Pastor Keith Graham

WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
I was born December 7, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri to my parents William and Betty Graham. I have one brother, Ricki Graham, now deceased.

WHEN DID YOU RECEIVE CHRIST?
I received Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior in 1981 at Joy Temple Church of God in Christ under the pastorate leadership of R.T. Iglehart. I remained there until the United States Air Force transferred me in 1982 to Osan Air Base, Korea.

WHEN DID YOU ACCEPT YOUR CALL INTO MINISTRY?
After returning to San Antonio in 1983 from a one-year tour in Korea, our family joined Macedonia Baptist Church. I accepted my call into the ministry that same year and was licensed as a minister under the pastorate leadership of the late Roland Franklin. In 1984, our family made a short stop at New Vision Christian Church under the pastorate leadership of Christopher Hunt. This was my first experience in a non-denominational church.

In 1985, I was lead by the Spirit of God to move to New Creation Christian Fellowship (NCCF) under the pastorate leadership of Bishop David M. Copeland and Pastor Claudette A. Copeland to assist them in starting their new ministry to the San Antonio area. In 1990, I was licensed as a minister and later that same year, ordained as an Elder along with Elder Eugene McNeil, thereby becoming the first ordained Elders at New Creation Christian Fellowship.

After serving honorably in the United States Air Force for twelve years, the Spirit of God directed me to forsake my Air Force Career and start a career in full-time ministry at New Creation Christian Fellowship.

WHAT IS YOUR MINISTERIAL EXPERIENCE?
I served as Youth Director at New Creation for two years before taking a full-time position as Senior Elder in 1993. My responsibilities were: Church Administrator, Secretary of the Advisory Board (highest Board of the Church), senior leader to the Elder’s Council (highest Ecclesiastical Board of the church), Business Administrator, Counselor, Director of Ministries, and senior member in charge in the absence of the Bishop and Pastor.

I was instrumental in starting New Creation’s School of the Servant, which focused on teaching laity, the five-fold ministry gifts and the “spirit of service.”

I have traveled nationally and globally teaching the principles of Christian living, developing leaders, and developing scripture-based workshops espousing the joys of the covenant marital relationship.

I graduated with honors from Logos Christian College with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. Twelve years of United States Air Force experience as an Administration Manager allowed me to reach the level of Technical Sergeant before forsaking my career for full-time ministry.

HOW DID NOW WORD COME INTO EXISTENCE?
After serving 14 years honorably and faithfully at New Creation Christian Fellowship, the Spirit of God once again directed me to make a career move. This time it was to the Pastorate of NOW WORD Covenant Church – a vision the Lord gave me to start in the city of San Antonio. Receiving the blessings of Bishop David M. Copeland, Pastor Claudette A. Copeland and the NCCF Family, I held our first service January 9, 2000, at the Shirley Howsman Elementary School as the Pastor of NOW WORD Covenant Church. From the first service until now, God has made NOW WORD Covenant Church, “The Place of His Presence!”

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF NOW WORD?
We have been called to live in covenant relationship with God and with one another. We will exalt Christ to bring all nations of people into membership with His church, to mature them to be Christ-like, and to equip them to serve in the ministry of the church with a Spirit of Excellence so they can fulfill their life’s mission in the world.

WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU?
Though I’m very vocal and outgoing during my preaching ministry and around friends, I am an introverted and reserved individual at home. The things I value most in life are: my walk in Christ, family, friends, and fellowship. I enjoy laughing and the atmosphere of family togetherness.

I have a strong sense of the destiny of God working in my life. I love God’s church and His people. I want everyone to come to maturity in Christ so they can understand and enjoy knowing God for themselves.

I can quickly change moods and become introverted. I’m not perfect – nor do I look for perfection in others. I’m attracted to people who possess loyalty, faithfulness, and integrity. These are the qualities I nurture in and expect in those whom I embrace as friends.

ARE THERE ANY FINAL WORDS?
Yes! My call in life is to serve all people through serving God. Our vision is to equip people through the Word of God so they can live victoriously in Christ, live in covenant relationship with one another, and expand the Kingdom of God on earth. My wife, Denetrice and I feel so blessed to be of service to God and to His people.
