Get Involved

According to Paul, the right place to serve in the church is where God set you to please Him (I Corinthians 12:18) and where your gifts allow you to serve with excellence (I Peter 4:10). This means God places members to serve in the ministry of a church according to the character, gifts, and experiences He has given them. Therefore, members should choose their ministry based on their God-given character, gifts, and experiences. They should not join the praise team or choir if they cannot sing. They should not greet people if they are not a naturally friendly person. Some gifts and talents are seen, others are not; but they are all important. Just remember it is not what you like to do; rather, it is what your gifts and talents give you the ability to do that helps the church. We encourage our members to serve by their S.H.A.P.E.:

Skills – You have the talent and the experience to do the work
Heart – You have passion for the work
Anointed – You’re called to do the work
Positive – You encourage others in the work
Excel – You produce outstanding work
