Our History

NOW WORD Covenant Church was founded by Pastor Keith Graham for the purpose of transforming lives through the gospel.

With this purpose, Pastor Keith, along with his wife Denetrice, their children, and a host of family, friends and guests held their first service on Sunday, January 9, 2000 at 8:30AM in the cafeteria of the Shirley Howsman Elementary School.  Pastor Keith’s first message was “Unchurch the Churched.” We remained at Shirley Howsman for the next two years and had a four month stint at Hobby Middle School.

In 2004 we moved and held our services for the next six years at the Fire Fighter’s Association Building. This was a period of time Pastor Keith affectionately calls “Having church in a box.” In 2009, the church purchased the former New Creation Christian Church, 44,000 square foot facility and renamed it the “Empowerment Center.” We took one year to transform our new facility into our: worship center, administration offices, banquet hall, classrooms and youth wing. We held our first service in our new worship center on May 6, 2010.

Today, our church understands the times in which we live and what we should do to encourage insiders to pursue intimacy with God, nurture relationship with insiders and influence outsiders to follow Christ.
